Great post. Article marketing is definitely effective, the trick with them is to submit articles regularly to high traffic article directories. Just 1-2 articles won’t be enough, you need several dozens or hundreds to make it a major traffic force. Apart direct traffic, you will also get some incoming links. Articles are among one of the best ways to promote a new website although it requires some work.

This is very good info for beginner webmasters but here is some info every new webmaster should know. Don’t ever expect for anyone or any article to share any truly great traffic gathering strategy. If anyone has a great traffic strategy (many of us do) you can rest assured it will be kept top secret because once a ton of people start trying to use the same methods it becomes less effective for everyone.

So I guess the bottom line is articles like this are great for getting your bearings as a webmaster and pointing you in a decent general direction, you will still need to invent your own traffic methods in order to be successful.

I agree with viral marketing and have been thinking of what type of freebies to give out because that is an instant attention getter, but it has to be something that you can afford to give away so that you can get your foot in the door.
