I personally do multi-domain hosting. It works very well for me, and it is pretty easy and simple to do. It is true that the prices are also very low. Thanks for the post!

@Anders, I would agree. A link is a link and those links mean possibly more traffic. I think too much emphasis is placed on page rank. I see countless times where PR0 pages outrank higher PR’s in the SERPS. A lot has to do with original content. Also, if I find a web host that gives me good service, I stick with it.

In general I think I would go with multi-domain hosting. Not as affective if linking to each other as you said, but those links should just be addition a wider backlinking campaign.
