Which is better, windows or linux webhosting service?
I’m buying a domain name and webhosting service. Which webhosting service are you using now? Which is better windows or linux? If i’m using windows operating system and getting a linux hosting plan, is this okay?
Wait, wait, wait. Before you buy that domain name, check out NameCheap. Use the coupon code on that page to save every more. You’ll get free privacy protection, too.
Yes, you can get a Linux plan if you’re using Windows because the two don’t rely on each other.
Linux plans are more secure and cost effective than Windows plans. You don’t need Windows unless your need to run Microsoft apps on the web server.
You don’t say what type of website you plan on making. I have several hosting plans from various providers, but I like WebHostingHub the best for running WordPress. It’s fast and I have yet to have any downtime. Tech support’s incredibly knowledgeable on WordPress. They use cPanel control panel. I prefer cPanel over anything else.
iPage uses vDeck control panel instead of cPanel. They have WordPress, too, but if you want to build a regular website, they have a pretty decent drag n drop website builder in the control panel. They’re hecka cheap, too. Big sale going on right now for a few days. Plans as low at $2.95/month.
