What’s the difference between a godaddy hit counter and google analytics visitor tracking?
Question:
Hi,
My website (hosted by goDaddy) has a GoDaddy hit counter. When I log into my google analytic account, the visiters stated on it are always lower that what’s on my godaddy hit counter. Please explain this, as I would like to know how many people are truly visiting my website. Thank you for your help!
Answer:
It could very well be that the godaddy counter includes all visits, including your own and each visit by the same person. The count is visits to the page, but not unique visitors. It’s more of a traffic counter.
Google analytics visits are less because it’s only counting unique visits by IP address.
