What is better: Just Host or Web Hosting Hub?

Share

Question:  I need web hosting and was looking at Just Host and Web Hosting Hub.  Which is better?  I’m so confused.

Answer:  Both JustHost and WebHostingHub pretty much have the same unlimited features like hosting space, data transfer (bandwidth), email accounts, cPanel control panel, etc.

Good Customer Service

I’ve dealt with customer service from both companies and I’ve always received prompt, courteous service.  They key is to clearing identify your problem.  Vague support tickets like “my website’s not up” is not good.  Check your email, FTP, ping your site, and do a tracert and include those results, too.  It could be a simple caching problem with your browser.  Oh, and do to NOT go off the hook with the help desk people.  Seriously, would you want to deal with a nasty customer who points the finger at them before they even know what the underlying problem is?  Keep you cool.

Fast Web Hosting Servers

Here’s where the wheels fall off.  I am in the process of closing my JH account due to excessively slow server response time on my WordPress blogs.  Even with all the plugins I normally use to speed them up, they still run unacceptably slow.

I transferred a couple of them over to WebHostingHub and was really impressed with the increased speed, even in the Dashboard.  I mean, really?  If the WordPress Dashboard is slow, you know you’re going to have performance issues with the blog, itself.  I immediately saw an increase in speed at the Hub.  I am very pleased with the performance.  The Hub’s servers are optimized for WordPress so those database fetches are fast.  In case you don’t know, WordPress posts are stored in the database as opposed to regular html pages.  So every time a post is requested, WP has to fetch it from the database.  If that gateway sucks, your page load time is going to be horrible.

I also have a friend who recently closed her JH account and went to HostGator because her sites were always down.  Maybe the both of us just got stuck with crappy old servers, but my account isn’t even a year old yet, so there’s no excuse for putting me on an old server when better ones should be available.  But in all fairness, that’s subjective on my part.

Which Web Hosting is Better?

So your question is, which of the two is better?  WebHostingHub is the better one.

p.s.  Always read the Terms of Service when buying web hosting so there are no surprises.  Too many times people blame the web hosting company when it’s really their own ignorance.
