What are some free wordpress hosting websites?
Free WordPress Hosting
Question: I need a free wordpress hosting website so I can host my wordpress website. Also, if you download the software from wordpress.org and install it how do you host it ?
Answer: If you’d like to learn how to use WordPress, then go to WordPress.com for free WordPress hosting, but you will not be able to use your own domain name and you won’t be able to upload new themes and plugins. And you especially won’t be able to put ads or affiliate links on it to make money. Advertising code gets stripped out. If you attempt to use your free WordPress site as a gateway page to another site where you’re selling something, you’ll be suspended in a heartbeat and you’ll never get your blog back. I’ve had it done to every single free WordPress blog I’ve ever had. It’s not just monetization that will get your site suspended. You’ll need to read the Terms of Service.
Download WordPress Software
To have total control over your WordPress blog, you need to get web hosting. And no, there will be nothing to download from WordPress.org. The WordPress software will already be available in the control panel on your hosting account. All you have to do is tell it where you want to install it. If you find a hosting provider that makes you download and install your own WordPress software, DO NOT use it because they won’t be able to offer support.
Some Good WordPress Hosting
iPage – If all you want to do is just have a WordPress blog and you don’t care about a lot of technical stuff, then iPage is a good choice. The iPage control panel is vDeck. It’s got the tools you need to host your own blog. You’ll find the WordPress software in the control panel in the Scripting and Add-Ons section in the SimpleScripts software installer. They’ve got a Fall sale going on right now and you can get an account for as low as $2.95/month, but you have to use this special link: iPage discount link
WebHostingHub – The Hub is my personal favorite for WordPress hosting. Their servers are optimized to run WordPress and that means your blogs will run faster. I snagged a Hub account several weeks ago and transferred several of my blogs over to the account and was really surprised by the increase in speed. Even the Dashboard ran significantly faster. I had one in particular and I thought it was maybe the theme that was causing problems, but it turns out it wasn’t. Now it runs way better on my Hub account. The Hub uses the cpanel control panel, my personal control panel of choice. And the tech support team at the Hub actually supports WordPress because they know it inside out and backwards. Some providers don’t support it even though you can install it. You’ll find the WordPress software in cPanel, Software, Fantastico Deluxe.
Some other good choices that use cPanel are BlueHost and HostGator. BH uses SimpleScripts and HG uses Fantastico.
