Looking for a good web host for wordpress

I’ve been using free web hosting for a couple of years now, and I think it’s time for me to register a domain name and start a REAL site. I have read numerous reviews about different web hosts to later discover elsewhere that they’re nothing but scams. I am aware that many of the “top 10 best web hosts” sites that show up so frequently are mainly just given to sites who bid for the highest mark. I want to make sure I am hosting my site at a safe, reliable, and guaranteed place before I give out my credit card number!

I’m looking for a web host that allows me to have a good amount of space and bandwidth, a WordPress install, and 1 domain name included for a decent pay-annually price.

Any recommendations are extremely appreciated, and if anyone has any experience with certain web hosts, please share! Thank you so much.

What do you mean they’re “scams”?  What have you found to be scammy about them?

If you want to install WordPress, then I’d recommend WebHostingHub.  I have an account with them and I love how fast my blogs run.  So much better than other hosts I’ve used.  They use cpanel control panel and WordPress is available for install from the Fantastico software installer in the Software section of cPanel.  The Hub has an A+ rating with the BBB, so they’re not one of the scammy host.  They’re pricing is slightly cheaper than other hosts.  You’ll get unlimited hosting space and bandwidth.

Another popular choice for WordPress is iPage.  Their control panel is vDeck.  It’s a little less geeky than cPanel.  Some people prefer it because they’ll never use all the other stuff that’s in cPanel, so they don’t even want to see it.  You’ll find the WordPress software in Scripts and Addons in the SimpleScripts software installer.  Click here to see an iPage control panel review.  They’re pricing is lower than other hosts for unlimited hosting space and bandwidth.
