Buying Multiple Domain Names

Question:  I am looking to buy some domain names, but would like to purchase them from the same place that will host them. Is there a site out there that will allow me to purchase my domain names and get free hosting for them as well? I have already found bravehost, but would like to compare it with other similar sites. I have not been able to find any. Does anyone know of where I might be able to purchase domain names and get free hosting as well?

Answer:  You have not been able to find any because they don’t exist.  Seriously, if a web hosting company is selling domain names, which many do, they are only making a few dollars per name and it’s certainly not enough to cover the cost of paying a data center to run their servers to give you free web hosting.

I looked at the Bravehost packages and I didn’t see any free web hosting for multiple domains.  Their Premium Hosting plan which allows only 10 domains is a whopping $7/month for only 30GB of space!!!  Jeez Louise, you can get unlimited hosting space to host unlimited domains with NO inode restrictions (the number of files on your account) at iPage for only $2.95/month. 

If you’ve done your homework, you should know by now that buying domain names from a web hosting company is more expensive than buying them from a domain name registrar.  Plus, if you want privacy protection on your domain names so spammers can’t harvest your name, address, phone number and email, it’s going to cost you more.

If you’re going to have reliable web hosting, including customer service to host all of those sites, free web hosting is absolutely NOT in the cards.  Free comes with restrictions, the first of which is usually NO customer service and second, no monetization.  They can also yank your account at any time if you violate their terms of service and there goes all your hard work.
