Total Beginner Website

Question:

Im making a niche website and im having a little difficulty making a site. I have ipage as a host and i have all their tools but i was just wondering. What are the best tools i should use (even if they are not provided by ipage) for a total beginner to make a site?? i have heard that using wordpress is the best way but im having trouble with some things. Anyone??

The absolute easiest way to build a website IS WordPress.  I use WordPress for all of my sites.  You don’t have to mess around with coding, graphics, navigation, etc.  WordPress does it all for you.

Install WordPress on iPage

On your iPage account, log into your control panel and go to the Scripts and Add-ons section.  Double-click on the SimpleScripts icon.  You’ll find WordPress in there.  It’s easy to install.  Once it’s installed, then you can change your theme in the WordPress Dashboard:Appearance:Themes.  If you don’t like any of the themes in there, you can always upload your own.  You can also make your own themes with a program called Artisteer.
