I want to create a website, but what should I look for?

Question:

I’m a newbie to this whole “web hosting” stuff.
I am going to buy my own domain. The purpose for the website:
-the service would allow me to upload the files in bulk and would be easily accessible to all clients
-with my own domain
-i want the website to load quickly
-also be able to send emails from that domain (lets say the website is: www.greatestwebsite.com, so when I send e-mails it the email address is: support@greatestwebsite.com, something like that).
-maybe allow the clients to have an account on the website (probably wont do it)
-something that would allow me to put a lot of files
-i don’t want a cap of how many visits the website can have
-maybe put some ads on the website to make money (that’s if I get a lot of hits)
-may be put pics and do little blog
as you can see I’m totally new to this, but i am certainly a fast learner. So any tutorials that you think might help me.

If you plan on having a lot of files, then you want iPage web hosting because they don’t limit the number of files you can have. I straight up asked ipage support about that. Other web hosts limit files.

With ipage, you can use their drap and drop website builder to make your site, or you can go straight for installing a WordPress blog. You’ll find the WordPress software already in the SimpleScripts script installer inside the iPage control panel. Click that link to find a video tutorial on about the website builder. Personally, I prefer using WordPress.

You’ll be able to put ads on your site to make money. You can upload files in bulk using an FTP program. You’ll also get unlimited email address. Use webmail or configure an email client like Windows Mail or Thunderbird to get and send mail.

I would not want clients to have an account on your account, but you can set up a forum using the SimpleScripts software installer. That way they can create a username/password and post content. Actually, WordPress can do the same if you want to allow users to post on your blog.
