Transfer goDaddy website

Hi, I created a website for a friend, but the problem is that it is still on my account.

I know you can transfer domain names from one account to another, but what about up and running websites? Is it possible to transfer a website I created to someone else on GoDaddy? thank you.

Nope, it’s not that easy. You’re friend needs a godaddy web hosting plan, not just a domain name. Actually, it doesn’t even need to be a godaddy hosting plan. It can be any web host like iPage. Here are instructions for using a GoDaddy domain name on iPage.

If he insists on using a GD plan, he’ll need to create an addon domain on his hosting account for the domain name.

You’ll need to copy all the files for his site from your account to your computer. Then copy them up to his web hosting account. You can use an FTP program to do it. WinSCP is free. So is FileZilla.

Also, next time get your domain names from NameCheap. You guys are paying to much for them at GD.
