How do I transfer my domain to another host?

I use HOSTGATOR and I am not happy with them at all. I would like to transfer to another web host. Any suggestions on an easy to build host and how do I transfer. I have VERY limited experience on building a site, and have Publisher 2003 only.

Answer:

It’s a little hard recommending another host when I don’t know your reasons for not liking HostGator or what type of website you are building. They’re a tad on the pricey side, but they have good services. You say you want an “easy to build host”, but then you say you have Publisher 2003. So which to you want, an online sitebuilder or are you going to roll your own? Publisher 2003 is a pretty sucky tool to build a website with.

iPage has a good Drag and Drop website builder in their control panel. You can also install WordPress and then you don’t have to build anything, just start writing. You can also use any off the shelf webpage builder to build and publish your site.

HostGator uses cPanel control panel. Some hosts that will do a free website transfer for you are Arvixe web hosting and JaguarPC hosting.
