Question:

I have been trying to transfer my domain name completely from goDaddy to yahoo but I can’t seem to understand how it goes. From yahoo, I don’t see any means provided to bring in domain name and from GoDaddy, I don’t see any means provided to transfer domain name to another register. what can i do? How to go about it?

Answer:

You have to initiate a transfer, but why in the world would you want to transfer a domain name to Yahoo? That site’s got some serious problems. I’ve tried several different browsers and most of the time, their menu items don’t load.

Do you plan on getting privacy protection so spammers do get your personal information like name, address, phone number and email? If you do, Yahoo charges a whopping .99/month for that, in addition to the domain name fee.

Transfer to NameCheap, instead. Here are complete, step-by-step instructions for transferring from Godaddy to NameCheap.

HOWEVER, if you mean to say that you want to use your go daddy domain name with Yahoo web hosting, you have to change the nameservers in your godaddy Domain Management settings to use the Yahoo nameservers.
