iPage for WordPress

Question:

Okay, I am trying import my wordpress.com weblog to ipage for hosting due to the fact my weblog is commercial and I want to sell ads and goods through the site. I have tried many times, with no luck, to use wordpress.org and I am wondering if I can just import my wordpress.com weblog over to ipage and add a custom theme to the internet site and sell advertising and items. Is any of this achievable?

Answer:

  1. First, you’ll need an iPage web hosting account so click here for step-by-step tutorials for signing up for iPage, making sure your domain name shows up in your account, and how to set up WordPress.
  2. After you sign up and get WordPress installed, click here to see how to get your old WordPress.com blog.
  3. Make note of the theme you’re using if you want to keep the same one. You can see which theme is installed in Appearance: Themes.  If you want the same theme, log into your new WordPress installation and install the same theme in the Appearance: Themes: Install New tab.  You can search for the same theme and install it from there.
  4. In the old WordPress.com blog, go to Tools, Export and export your blog.
  5. In the new blog on iPage, go to Tools, Import and import that export file.
