WordPress on goDaddy

Question:

I’m looking at the manager on GoDaddy and I haven’t the slightest clue where to start or how to load my files. I also don’t know the database names I need to install wordpress. Could somebody please help?

Answer:

The Domain Manager is for managing domain names only. You cannot put WordPress “on a domain name”. You need web hosting.

Why would you need to know the database names? Any web hosting account should come with the WordPress installer in the control panel. When you run the installer, it automatically creates the database. You shouldn’t be creating anything by hand. Do you have web hosting?

You can use your GoDaddy domain name on a iPage hosting account. Sign up for ipage with the “Transfer existing domain” option. Then follow the steps on this page for using a GoDaddy domain name with iPage.
