How do I get rid of the HostGator getting started page?

Question:

I’m trying to set up my blog but I’m having trouble. How do I get rid of “host gator getting started page” the part where you can log into the control panel? When people type in the url I don’t want people to get directed to the control panel login page, I want them to get directed to the home page.

Answer:

Use FTP and go to the public_html folder or you can use the File Manager in cPanel to get there. The file is probably called something like default.html.  Just delete it.

Are you installing WordPress?  After you install it on your domain, the blog will load from the index.php file.  BTW, you can find the WordPress software in cPanel, Software, Fantastico De Luxe.
