How do I find out the amount of traffic my domain names are getting?
I have many domain names. Some I would like to park. Others I may want to sell. Some I want to build websites for. How do I find out reliable statistics of how much traffic they are receiving? None are currently hosted.
Answer: If a domain name is not hosted, it’s just a virtual entity associated with nothingness. Without hosting, there is nothing for anyone to go to. Stats on it can’t be collected until you have a home for it. A domain name by itself can’t be navigated to. It’s like a thought in your head that hasn’t been turned into reality. You may be thinking of some tropical paradise in your head, but until you draw the picture on paper, no one else knows it exists.
Cash parking, on the other hand, is a form of web hosting where the DNS nameservers on your domain name are changed to the cash parking service and a dynamic site with advertising on it is created and you get paid paultry pennies when someone clicks on an ad. The company you do the cash parking with should have some type of stats program. I know SmartNames does, but your sites need to be approved by them. Google has free domain name parking that you can earn money from Adsense.
