How do I add an ad to my sidebar on self-hosted WordPress blog?

Put an Ad in WordPress Sidebar
Question:
I need to add an ad in my wordpress sidebar. how do i do it?
Answer:
In the Dashboard: Appearance: Widgets locate your sidebar.
If there are 2 sidebars, it doeesn’t matter if they are both on the same side of the page or on opposite edges of the page, the leftmost sidebar will always be the primary widget area and the rightmost, the secondary.
If you only have 1 sidebar, it’s the primary one.
To add an ad into the sidebar, drag the text widget into the proper sidebar widget area. You can also drag widgets up and down to reorder them. Paste your ad code into the text widget and save.
