How can I publish a website?
Question:
I’m working on a website that I created on my PC. I know I did everything right. I’m willing to pay money, but I need a trusted company to publish my site. I use Time Warner Cable and they do not publish websites created personally on a PC. Is there any companies that will publish my website, but are not one of those shady companies you see when you type in “web hosting” on google. Thanks to anyone that tries to help. 10 points for anyone that actually helps!
Answer:
Cable companies suck. You can do it yourself, but you need a web hosting account. BTW, what makes you think they are “shady”? How else are you going to find web hosting online without searching for “web hosting”?
Here are some non-shady web hosts. I’ve listed the strong points for each company. If you want some good, honest hosting then I suggest starting with iPage or WebHostingHub. Both will let you publish your own site.
Did you code the site by hand or did you use website design software? If you used software, it should come with a publishing tool. Publish it to your domain name with the username and password in your hosting welcome email.
You must login to your control panel and use the File Manager to delete the default.html page. That’s the “under construction” page.
