Hostmonster or GoDaddy – Who’d Ya Rather?

Share

I have a question...I am starting my own web hosting company, i would like to host multiple websites = lots of bandwidth = muslitple emails. I was going to go with hostmonster since they have really good reviews but when you read the terms and agrrements Unlimited = not unlimited!?!?!?!

goDaddy is very well know but its more expensive.

I like GoDaddy beacause my friend over at tutvid.com used to host with them, but had problems with bandwidth because of all his videos..

Should i go with Hostmonster at 3.95$ or godaddy 13.50$ deluxe plan??

Answer:  You cannot “start your own web hosting company” by buying a shared hosting plan from another web hosting company.  You at least need a reseller account and if you want “unlimited”, then you’ll need a dedicated server.  Each customer needs their own cPanel control panel and you cannot do that on a shared account. The web hosting reviews you are reading are for shared hosting plans, not for what you want to do.

Also, how are you going to service these accounts when customers have problems?  Most reseller plans don’t come with tech support.  Are you prepared to go to court when litigious people sue you or stupid problems or because they can’t get their way?

And reseller hosting is NOT “being a web hosting company”.  You will be a reseller, meaning you rent server space from a real web hosting company and then repackage it and sell it to your customers who are gullible enough to pay the high prices for such paultry space.

If you STILL want to be a reseller, then go with HostGator reseller hosting.

Makes no sense to look for a hosting company when you are going to BE a hosting company. You will have a severe bandwidth problem. You need to BUY your own servers and set up your hosting company that way. Competition is fierce which I’m sure you are aware of.
