Godaddy vs. Hostgator for WordPress Hosting

Share

Question:

Hi Everyone,

I’d like to search for a new web hosting for my blog website, now I would be interested in choosing goDaddy or Hostgator as my website hosting service provider?

Anyone has any opinions about which one is better?

Answer:

GoDaddy does domain names best, but web hosting plans are on the expensive side for too few features.

HostGator does web hosting best, but you can do better when buying domain names.  BTW, they don’t give away free domain names like some hosts do, but they do sell them.  However, you can buy name from them, but again, you can do better.

1)  Get your domain names from NameCheap.  Use the coupon code on that page to get your names even cheaper.  You can use the codes all month long for as many names as you like.

2)  I’d take HostGator hosting over GD’s hosting any day of the week.  HG uses cPanel control panel, GD has some convoluted interface that’s not user-friendly, cluttered, confusing and annoying, even for a seasoned webmaster.  You said you wanted a blog.  Here’s how to install WordPress in HostGator.

  • Login into your HG cPanel.
  • Scroll to the Software section.
  • Click on Fantastico.
  • You’ll find WordPress and a whole bunch of other apps in there.
Get HostGator with cPanel Control Panel, unlimited web space and bandwidth. Host unlimited domains on a single account. A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Click here to save 25% with HostGator Coupon Code: HGFOR25LESS
