Can you transfer an entire web site to another web hosting company?
Question:
If I signed up with one web hosting company with a month to month contract, and I already have a finished web design that is fully functional, can I transfer the entire thing to another web hosting company without having to redo the whole thing? Or even redo part of it?
See The Answers Below…

What you have to redo depends on how custom your site is and the configuration differences between the server your currently hosted on versus the server you’ll be hosted on at the new site.
The fact is no two servers from different hosting companies have the exact same setup and generally something will need to be adjusted in your script to make things work perfectly.
If you are not comfortable with migration yourself I suggest look into http://www.websitemovers.com as they will do it for a fee.

You can move the whole thing. (As noted, if there’s a database involved, you’ll need to back it up and import it into a similar database at the new host.) Otherwise, it’s a matter of uploading all the files to the new place and changing the nameservers at your domain registrar to point to it. (Once that’s done, and not before, go back to the old host and delete everything.)
Yeah you can move the whole thing easily.
If you have a database just export the tables and such. Then import into a new database on your new host.
Download all of your folder, then upload them to the new host.
If you use links including your old host address in them, change them, if you are keeping the same domain , it shouldn’t be a problem when transferring to your new host. Just keep all the files and folders exactly how they are.
If you are using php files or something alike, you will need to change site paths in them. If you have a diff database name, you will need to change the variables for it in what ever files require it.
Yes, you can do by yourself or ask the new hosting company to help you to transfer your website to their hosting, and to avoid any problem, don’t forget to back up your data first before you move the website
