Can I create a website with user login system?
Easily Implement Signups and Logins on Your Site
Question: I want to create a website with a user system (signing up and logging in). I want to use a web server like bluehost or ipage. But i want to use PHP, phpmyadmin, and mySQL to help me create the fields and database. I then want to use Adobe Dreamweaver to put everything together. Am i able to do this?
Answer:
Both BlueHost and iPage are excellent host choices for your project, but why build a membership site yourself? That stuff’s already written so you don’t need the added expense of getting Dreamweaver. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Just use WordPress.
- It’s already got the user system for signing up, logging in, password recovery and privilege assignment that can be set to public or private.
- There are plugins available that will allow you to control which areas of the blog users have access to like certain categories.
- There are countless paid and free themes and plugins available.
- And you can make your own WordPress themes with a program called Artisteer.
WordPress, even Joomla and some other blogging or content management systems are available in both the BlueHost and iPage control panel. Both providers use the SimpleScripts software installer so you’ll find that sofware plus a whole lot more in there.
