Can a site created in Yahoo site Builder be hosted with another web hosting company?
Question:
I was wondering if i could do host on maybe host monster or any other cheaper web hosting company because yahoo hosting is a bit much. What are the positive benefits with hosting with yahoo? What is the best web hosting company?
I was thinking about WHP…Is it a hassle to change it from Yahoo to another company?
Answer:
Yahoo web hosting is very expensive, but no, you can’t transfer a site that was built with the Yahoo site builder to another hosting company. They use proprietary software. The best you can do is copy and paste your page content into a text file and then go build your site at another host and paste the content into it.
This is why I do not recommend using any site builder that you find on a hosting account. Only build your website with a software program on your own computer, then upload the website files to the host. That way you always have the files.
Or, you can install WordPress right from within the web hosting control panel. WordPress is something to can transfer to any host that supports it. For future reference, click here to learn how to transfer WordPress to another host.
If you bought your domain name from Yahoo, you can change the nameservers to point to a different web host.
About WHP (WebHostingPad). You can get plans as low as $1.99/month, but you need to choose VERY carefully so you don’t end up on a slow server. If you have a simple site without a lot of traffic, you’ll be ok with the cheaper plan. But if you have more traffic and more content, then opt for the Power Plan Plus for $3.99/month. Here’s another option. I HIGHLY recommend some very affordable web hosting from iPage. If you insist on using a website builder, they have two of them in the control panel, but like I said, I would recommend using WordPress because it’s so flexible, has an endless array of themes to install both paid and free or make your own with Artisteer. You’ll also be able to install plugins for additional functionality like automatic backups that get sent right to your email address, website stats, social bookmarking buttons like Facebook like buttons and so much more. If you need something, chances are real good that there’s a plugin for it.

Yes it can, you could download the files then upload them to another website. Or you could copy the source code then change it to fit the other website.
