Best web host for WordPress blog, iPage or BlueHost ?
Question: Among these 2 which do you think is better for a wordpress based website. I read a lot of bad reviews about iPage yet good ones also. same goes with bluehost and im not able to decide. Pls Help !
Answer: The bad reviews that you’re reading about iPage, what’s the date on them? If they’re old, iPage shut down for some time to restructure and the reopened under new management. They’re much stronger now with really great customer service. I’ve dealt with them several times and they’ve bent over backwards to help me. When reading reviews, you have to read between the lines. I’ve noticed that most of the complaints are from people who do not read the Terms of Service before signing up for an account. They’re own ignorance does NOT make for a bad web hosting company.
Based on my personal experience and having had an iPage account and having a BlueHost account, I would pick BlueHost simply because I personally prefer and need the cPanel control panel. BlueHost has CRON at no extra charge and I also need the website stats tools, the IP blocker and the domain level email filtering.
Both companies have great customer support and both have easy 1-click installation of WordPress within their control panels. iPage uses the vDeck control panel and BlueHost uses cPanel. Both have the SimpleScripts software installer.
There is another web hosting account I have and that’s WebHostingHub. They claim their servers are optimized for WordPress. So I transferred a couple of sites over to a Hub account from a really, REALLY slow JustHost reseller account and WOW! Immediate increase in speed with the same exact WordPress theme and data. No, that’s not a sales pitch, it’s the truth. Even the WordPress Dashboard was fast. I can’t stand sitting in front of the computer waiting for a post to save while I’m working on my blog. I am really pleased with the WordPress hosting at WebHostingHub. Even FTP is like greased lightning.
