Any suggestions for secure & reliable web hosting?

I have a question...I would like to subscribe to a web host for my niche website.

Apart from hostgator, which are the other recommended ones?  My budget is about $10/mth.  Anyone can contribute some pointers pls.

Answer:

Many super affiliates use HostGator for their niche sites.  They are very good.  Will you be building standard HTML sites or will you be using WordPress?  I use WordPress for my niche sites because I don’t have to screw around with templates and building navigation menus and all that.  I can also take advantage of the seemingly endless supply of both free and paid themes, but mostly, I just make my own themes with Artisteer.  I design a layout and then when I want to spark up a new blog, I just change the header, colors and background.  It makes it so easy to deploy niche sites.

However, you said other that HG so here are some suggestions.  All of these come with unlimited hosting space and bandwidth and the usual “unlimited” features.

iPage Web Hosting:  12 month plans are $4.50/month.  Very inexpensive.  The ipage control panel is vDeck.  The software installer is SimpleScripts.  Free security suite.  U.S. based tech support.  Anytime money-back guarantee.  Eco-friendly green hosting.

WebHostingHub Web Hosting:  12 month plans are $6.95/month.  The Hub is my all-time favorite WordPress host.  I don’t even run old school HTML sites anymore, only WordPress and WordPress is sooo much faster on this account.  Plus, their U.S. based tech support team are WordPress experts.  cpanel control panel with Fantastico software installer.  The Hub has an A+ Better Business Bureau rating.

BlueHost Web Hosting:  12 month plans are $6.95/month.  BH is another favorite of mine because you can monitor your file count in the cPanel control panel.  Most other hosts using cPanel have the Fantastico installer, but BH uses SimpleScripts with more stuff.  They’ve also got something called Resource Protection.  It’s built in CPU throttling.  Say for instance you’re running something on your website that may be somewhat of a resource hog.  All other hosts would suspend your account in a heartbeat.  With CPU throttling, your scripts continue to run, but do so without impacting others on the servers.  Believe me, it’s better than getting suspended or being force into an expensive VPS solution.  BH is another BBB A+ host.

Truth be told, HostGator is good, but they tend to force the VPS solution when you’re using too many server resources, whatever “too many” is.  It happened to a friend of mine and in the past few of weeks, I heard about it from another party.

iPage Affordable Web Hosting with vDeck control panel and SimpleScripts 1-click software installer. Drag-n-drop website builder. Create a site in 10 minutes. Anytime moneyback guarantee. An eco-friendly green web hosting provider. BlueHost - Unlimited Web Hosting with cPanel
