Personal Review

I have a SuperGreen account. Only a few years ago green hosting was expensive, costing 2-3 times more than regular hosting, so I stayed away from it.  One day I saw SuperGreen and their low pricing caught my eye.  I thought, “Wait a sec, this price can’t be right and still be green.  It’s less than most of the top non-green hosts.”

I had never heard of SuperGreen and I’m really leery of trying new web hosts because there isn’t much history on them.  However, I decided to give them a shot, especially since they have cPanel.

I need to point something out here, just in case you’re on the fence about them.  They’ve got the standard 30-day money-back guarantee in addition to an anytime guarantee.  Normally, after 30 days, you’ve reached the point of no return and you’re stuck, but this anytime guarantee means that anytime after the 30-day burn in period should you need to leave, they’ll pro-rate and refund your unused balance.

WordPress Runs FAST!

I’ve been getting away from using standard HTML sites.  They’re just too much work.  I’ve been leaning towards WordPress because I don’t have to do any coding and can change the look of my site at any time just by changing themes.  I immediately noticed a drastic increase in WordPress performance.  WOW!  I had two hosting accounts at another web host at the time and WordPress ran like a dog on both of those accounts (on different servers), even on a brand new out-of-the-box installation.  It lead me to believe that WordPress was just inherently slow, but I was wrong.  It was my old hosting company’s problem, not WordPress. 

Once I got my SuperGreen account I stopped creating new sites at the old host and started using SuperGreen exclusively.  After several months of great service and performance at SuperGreen, I moved all of my sites off of the old host’s servers and onto SuperGreen’s and closed the old accounts.

So yes, I’d definitely say that SuperGreen has awesome WordPress hosting.  Now that I know it’s not a WordPress issue, all of my new domains are built with WordPress.  And because SuperGreen uses cPanel (the #1 and preferred web hosting control panel), WordPress is easy to install with just a couple of clicks right from the control panel. 

Customer service is also very good.  Any time I’ve had to contact support, my tickets have been answered within minutes.  They strive to answer tickets within 30 minutes.

CAUTION!

This is a very important point on a hosting plan, so listen up.  Other companies may give you big discounts upfront, but they may only be introductory prices.  Yes, you can get hosting for well under $50 for a year, but when that term is up, they’ll renew you at the regular price.  I’ve had that happen to me with several hosting companies.

SuperGreen WILL NOT renew you at a higher price.  The low price you pay now will be locked in for renewal, too.
