Link Popularity Building – Your On The Right Track But Using The Wrong Link Building Strategies
Let’s call it what it is… No Internet Marketer in their right mind looks forward to the task of link building. In all reality most would rather walk over hot coals. The hardcore reality is this must be done if you wish to reach a top position in Google.
It doesn’t matter if you dislike it or not the fact still remains that incoming links are an integral part of all successful SEO campaigns. I guess that would explain why there are so many link building scams popping up everyday. I’m sure you have seen ads such as, “Get 100 one-way links for $24.95!”
The sad part is several webmasters fall for this crap everyday. Although you may receive the incoming links as promised, the links are useless because they are of poor quality and offer no value as far as SEO is concerned.
Have you ever thrown away money on any of those link building scams? I don’t know about you but I have. In fact I have lost hundreds of dollars to those digital bandits. I use to be one of those Internet Marketers who thought that the more links the better – boy was mistaking. Once I started running test after test I finally figured out that what I needed was highly targeted high quality links, placed in the right location on the page, with the right anchor text.
At first glance it may seem a little confusing and you may be asking yourself… Where do I get started? The answer is simple, it is a necessity that you know what anchor text to target. Don’t fall into the trap of targeting generic phrases such as “buying digital camera”. take a moment to really think about it… If someone types in “buying digital camera” are they really ready to buy? Chances are they are not ready. They still have a few questions that they need answered first.
A serious buyer will have questions such as what are the various digital camera’s? What are the differences between the different makes and models? Which ones are in my prince range? Those are just a few questions that a hot buyer may still need answered before clicking that buy button. The bottom-line is you need to stop wasting time targeting the wrong keywords in your link building strategies. Hot buyers are more likely to search for keyword phrases such as, “Nikon Cookpix Digital Camera.”
Ok… You have taken the advice from The SEO Bully and your still not getting the results that you desire. This is a common problem and I just happen to know exactly what the problem is – your over optimizing your anchor text. All you have to do is make sure that you vary the keywords for your anchor text to avoid any penalties by the big “G”… SImple… Problem solved, now go dominate the search engines.
Another commonly asked question is why do I target buyer keywords instead of keywords for rankings or traffic. The answer is simple – I do it because most Internet Marketers get so caught up in getting on the front page of the SERP’s that they sometimes forget their main objectives… High conversions and making money! Take a second and think about this… If you rank number one for a particular keyword phrase and you still fail to generate traffic does it really matter? Of course it doesn’t! Now ask yourself if you were to generate thousands of unique visitors per day and the visitors are not converting does that really matter? The answer again would be NO!
As business owners our main goal should always be conversions. It doesn’t matter if you own an online or brick and mortar business the objective is still the same. This mindset is one that most Internet Marketers either neglect or they simply do not know. If you walk away from this article with anything I hope it is a shift in your mindset. You have to get out of the old mindset of doing link building to generate traffic and shift to the mindset of link building for dollars.
