The main issue for newcomers to SEO is how to keep all the elements of SEO together, and effectively manage all the best practices for on page optimization in page design and copywriting as well as off page elements like blog posting / link building and so on. I was one of those who battled and then after getting into software marketing almost by accident 7 years ago, we decided to put our own seo software package together (we already did keyword research and adwords intelligence) which does the lot. @Inbound Call Centers, install SEOQuake for Firefox and do some keyword poking around in the SERPs. Take note of the page rank of the sites on the first page. I see countless sites with low or 0 page rank out position PR 3 and 4 sites. PR isn’t all it’s cracked up to be because it can be so easily self-generated. Unique content will always be king, in my opinion.

@traffic ticket: I do not agree with you. On-page factors are no longer as important as they used to be. Increasing a site’s link popularity is by far the most important aspect of SEO.

On Page or On site SEO is more important than the amount of back links your site has. Relevancy is key, and content is King. Nice Blog post.

The division of seo work is 30 % on page and 70 % off page . Now a days most of renowned search engine do not give any value to keyword shuffling in title , meta tag or in content . On page is value only for technical reason like better spider view , canonical issue , HTTP header check and many more.
