Use Online Press Releases To Build Tons of Links To Your Website

Improving a website’s search engine rankings is easy with the help of an online press release. If you haven’t spent a lot of time in public relations, then here’s a quick idea of what a press release is and how it can help improve search engine rankings. What you learn may surprise you.

A press release is a written communication directed at members of the news to announce something of value. Today, most releases are distributed via the internet or emailed to reporters in a specific niche. Commercial press release services distribute thousands of news releases each and every day.

Many companies distribute press releases on a regular basis to inform their industry of key changes or information they wish to communicated. Companies are hoping they “get ink” where by a reporter will take notice and publish their news online or in print. Reporters have come to depend on press releases as a way to find relevant news that is fit to print.

A press release is easy to create. Most include the date of the release, a headline, body copy, and a brief company description. Online releases include the same information with a link back to the company’s website or product page. The challenge is creating a release that is newsworthy and gets attention.

Today there are hundreds of online press release websites designed to guide reporters through a significant amount of clutter to find what is most relevant to their given audience. The benefit to those doing business online is that an additional outlet exists for publishing information about your website or product and building in-bound links to your website at the same time.

This is good news for anyone trying to promote a new product, service, website or blog. But how do you get noticed? When I started out in Internet marketing, I thought it was all about writing a fantastic release and having it distributed across the web. And even today, that still holds true. However, when using press releases for SEO value, the key is simply to write a good release that helps build back links to your website or blog.

There are a few press release services out there, much like article directories that allow you to submit your release and include a link back to your website. Unlike article directories, many of these sites are not free. However, a small handful cost nothing, dozens charge less than twenty dollars and others will charge more.

When I want to build a large number of back links to my website in short order I always look to press release distribution. You can implement this simple strategy quickly and easily. It’s not hard to think of something newsworthy and over time it gets much easier to find something that will resonate with your target audience the media the cater to them.

I am okay as long as the fees are less than twenty dollars. With a small budget, you can have your release, and your links, distributed across the internet. Try using press releases to build back links to your website. You will be amazed by the results.

The Mysterious Google Crawl – Part One

There’s a constant air of mystery about Google’s robots and crawling spiders which scour the web indexing websites and gathering new information.

While it’s certainly true that there’s a lot of science and math behind Google algorithms all you actually need is to understand are the core basics in order to make well judged business decisions regarding Google and your website.

Google does what’s known as a ‘deep crawl’ about once a month. This is where the majority of your web pages are crawled and indexed into the database however due to how fast the internet is refreshing and changing Google can not afford to simply rely on this deep crawl – it would quickly find itself out of date.

Going flat out it’s reckoned that Google could perform a deep crawl of the web in about 1 week however it also has to index all of the information into its database which takes longer again. It’s one of the principal reasons why it takes so long for a new site to get indexed without any backlinks, if it gets indexed at all!

Due to this fact Google also performs a fresh crawl. Instead of indexing sites deeply it just grazes the surface of the web gathering latest updates and accessing home pages.

Robots which seek out links and travel quickly from site to site are the mechanics behind fresh crawls. It allows Google to skim the web picking up only the latest updates and keep itself relatively up to date with all the constant changes.

Because of this you’re much more likely to have a new website indexed by Google by using backlinks to your site that by simply submitting your URL and waiting for Google’s deep crawl to find you.

Realistically it could take months for a new site and domain appear on Google’s database, something which could be achieve in a single day with backlinks. The exact frequency of fresh crawls are secret however by staying alert it is possible to notice when they have occurred.

SEO and SEM For Online Marketing Success

If you are new to Internet marketing, you may have some questions about the difference among search engine optimization and search engine marketing. These core marketing subjects are very different but share a number of similarities as well.

Let us begin by focusing on search engine optimization also referred to as SEO and comparing SEO to search engine marketing which is referred to as SEM. Both SEO and SEM require a firm understanding of how they work and where they fit in the online marketing mix. SEO requires a strong knowledge of how search engines work and what it takes to achieve top search engine placement. Search Marketing requires a firm understanding about online advertising, keywords, and ROI.

Both online marketing methods can be rather complex yet at the same time relatively simple. SEO can be boiled down to this. Where your site is ranked on major search engines is a direct result of your understanding and application of best practices in the area of SEO.

Search engine marketing is based on an understanding of online ad campaigns that are implemented on advertising networks. The largest online ad network is Google followed by Yahoo! and MSN. These ad networks basically work the same way. You open an ad account, place an online ad, and when users search for terms related to your ad, the advertisement displays. When someone clicks on your ad, you pay a fee.

Search engine optimization is unique and different from search engine marketing because the organic result which appears in search engines is driven from your optimization techniques. These techniques are broken down into on page optimization and off page optimization. On page optimization is closely tied to web site design and off page is more associated with in bound links to your website.

The result is that search engine optimization drives organic traffic to your website or blog. That is to say that after users complete searches on major search engines like Yahoo! or Google that the results list comes from each search engine determining the best result. When users click on these results the advertisers owes nothing. Organic search is usually referred to as free traffic for this very reason.

Search engine marketing is different than SEO because with SEM you pay only when users take a specific action. Unlike traditional advertising you do not pay for an ad to simply appear. Rather, you pay when a browser clicks on your ad. Your advertising costs are related to a number of factors including keyword competitiveness and ad placement.

Doing business online requires a firm knowledge of both search engine optimization as well as search engine marketing Both internet marketing disciplines can support your online success. If you are not currently comfortable with SEO or SEM, begin with some simple research, explore SEO and SEM products, or subscribe to an RSS feed. Doing so can improve your knowledge and expertise in both of these areas.

Succeed Online With These Winning SEO Strategies

Succeeding with search engine optimization is a matter of understanding the basics. Search engine optimization consists of two different disciplines. The first is called on page optimization, which is what you do on your web pages to succeed, and off page optimization. By mastering both of these areas, you can have search engine success.

Any powerful search engine optimization strategy is a combination of having the write strategy and applying necessary elements of that strategy in the right order. The same can be said for SEO. To win at the game of SEO, you need to be willing to focus on on-page optimization before off-page optimization. This means that you are concentrating your efforts on navigation, web site architecture, and Meta tags. Beginning with on-page optimization ensures long-term success.

Let’s start with looking at your URLs. Many people believe that the only way to get number one rankings is by having your main keyword in your domain name. For example if your keyword is sneakers, you should have a URL that includes your keyword of sneakers. Sure, this would help but its only one of a number of factors considered in search engine optimization. Not to mention the difficulty of finding a good URL that includes your keywords.

It is true that putting your keyword phrase in your URL is beneficial even though it is not the end all be all. This is especially true with engines like Yahoo and Bing. One thing you can do is to use a sub-domain strategy. This means setting up sub domains from your main site that include the keyword you’re optimization for. It would look something like this: sneakers.yoursite.com where your site is the name of your main web site.

If you’re aren’t quite sold on a sub-domain strategy, there is an alternative. The good news is that the second domain option is just as effective and just as easy to implement. Essentially you want to follow the same strategy of determining which keywords you want to promote. After doing so all you need to do is set up a separate page on your site. It would look something like www.yoursite.com/keyword where keyword is the keyword you are promoting and yoursite is your domain name. This promotes your keyword and keeps it close to your home page.

After optimizing your URL, its time to focus on other on page attributes. One of the most important is page load time. This is a function of the number of images you have on your page, scripts, the number of external calls made by your code, etc. and requires a good deal of experience from a programming perspective. Your best bet is to have someone with SEO experience review your pages to make sure that you are applying SEO best practices from an on page perspective.

If you’ve done a good job with your on-page optimization, then you’re ready to start focusing your effort on off-page optimization. Off page optimization comes down to building links to your web site from a number of sources. These sources could be authority web sites, blogs, directories, or social media web sites. The thing to keep in mind is that off-page optimization is an ongoing process that requires ongoing effort.

Start with on-page optimization to build a strong foundation to your web site. Once you have the proper domain structure and address other on page optimization factors, you’ll be in a good position to roll out your link building strategy. As you develop more inbound links, your search engine results will improve.

Want to Be an Online Success Story? Learn To Optimize Your Website for the Search Engines

by Ricardo d Argence

If you are seeking online success with your business, then SEO search engine optimization is essential. Without adequately optimizing your website for search engine spiders or algorithms, you have little chance of your site receiving visible listings on the search engine results pages. That spells death to most online businesses.

Free traffic is by far the best, and if you are unsure how to use pay per click advertising such as Google Adwords properly, it could cost you a lot of money to correct inadequacies in your SEO. Only 1% of those that start in internet marketing actually make any money: largely because they do not know how to promote their website.

While this isn’t the only reason those sites don’t succeed, your chances for success increase a great deal when you learn SEO and then apply it to your website. This will help you achieve high rankings and drive traffic to your business.

Essentially, SEO is the way you tell the search engines what your site is all about. It is a complex combination of things and includes using relevant keywords that match the content on your pages. Ideally, these keywords will also be words that are searched for in the search engines frequently.

Having a great looking website with a lot of well written content on each page is not sufficient to earn you a listing on Google, let alone a high one that will bring you free traffic. It is essential that manipulate the search engine algorithms to calculate a high degree of relevance of your page to the requirements of those using Google and other search engines to find information.

An algorithm is basically a fancy formula used to calculate relevancy. Algorithms don’t consider web design or graphics. Rather, they look solely at your site’s source code and the text on each page, granting a higher relevance to the text that appears in certain places, such as headings. In this way it determines if your web page content is truly relevant to the search terms.

Spiders crawl the websites on the Internet, and you want to lead them to where you want them. When the spiders crawl your site, here is where website design and layout and especially the linking structure and navigation within your site come into play. SEO here looks at the more complete picture, not just heading tags and meta tag keywords.

Most people don’t really understand the concept of SEO or really know the best way to optimize their success. And they don’t understand how critical search engine optimization really is. It is a huge key to their success as an online business.

But you’ve got to do more than just read about SEO. You need to take action, put it into practice, and see the results it generates to completely comprehend its importance. The proof of its effectiveness is in the success of your online business.

Old school web professionals may still believe achieving a two percent to three percent keyword density on each web page is the key factor to SEO success. But that is no longer the case. Today search engines are evaluating for contextual relevance-not just keyword repetition.

There have been a large number of changes in search engine optimization over the last few years, and SEO is no longer what it once was. However, what won’t change is the benefit to you of having a full understanding of the principles behind the actions you are taking when optimizing your website form search engines such as Google.

SEO search engine optimization wil make all the difference to the success of your site, and likely even that of your business. Don’t just read about it: see it in action and understand it.

1 Second Search Engine Optimization Tip

by David Anttony

There are two types of SEO, onsite and offsite. Onsite involves optimizing your website to make it search engine friendly. By changing your local site and adding special SEO components you can attract better results, and sometimes great results from search engines like Google.

You can get great results with just onsite optimization on its own but the effects tend to be unstable and not effective continuing. To get top results you will need to do a lot off offsite optimization as well.

Top onsite SEO tip: change the page title

Believe it or not the changing the page title is one of the most powerful onsite optimization techniques you can do. The page title is what appears at the top of a web browser on the left hand side. Visitors to your website will not usually take much notice of your page title because it is not rendered on your page. However, search engines take a lot of notice of the page title.

If you have never seen what a tag looks like within an HTML page then simple open up the page source and take a look at the top of the page. To view the page source, the easiest way is to right click on the page and select view source.

You will find the page title inside the title tags like this: <title>Title Goes Here</title>

Search engines are very focused on page titles because it is like the title of a book – it tells you what is inside. By paying close attention to the page title you can move your ranking up considerably. The other day we could not get a client to rank for a specific keyword – we had missed adding this into the title (we are ranking clients for many keywords) and then the next day after we got the page reindexed by Google they moved from the second page to the first.

The trick is not to dilute your page title with additional non-keywords. Do not add words like in and the, and other filler words. The closer you can get to the pure keywords the better.

For example, avoid doing this: when your keyword is earth worms. Instead simply use: .

If you have multiple keywords only use 2 or three maximum or again the focus is reduced. If you are using multiple keywords then do it like this: – never use filler words like ‘in’ and ‘the’.

Increase Link Popularity With Clear Strategy, Focused Tactics

by Winson Yeung

Success on the Internet can be like a major military campaign. Without a clear strategy and rapid-responsive tactics, your adversaries will mow you down in the search engine rankings. So set out to increase link popularity.

If a good offense truly is the best defense, then start your foray with a look at your link popularity rating. Don’t be surprised when you find widely varying results from different search engines. That’s because every search engine has its own computational process, known as an algorithm, that calculates its rankings.

Search engines rank web sites in strange and mysterious mathematical ways. Virtually every search engine has its own proprietary algorithm (a step-by-step computational process) through which it calculates both link popularity and link importance. That’s why, when you check your web site’s link popularity on several search engines, you get a different result each time.

As a result of dealing with the spammers, link importance has become a major factor in increasing link popularity. In other words, get a major online magazine to link to your movie criticism blog, and your link popularity score climbs faster than if 25 of your devoted fans linked from their personal pages.

Search engines got antsy about using solely numbers of links because of some antics by our “pals, ” the spammers. These shady characters set up bogus web sites for free, then linked from them to their main money-making site. The result? Top rankings for sites run by shifty spammers, and many unhappy users of prominent search engines. Ergo, new algorithms to rank importance as well as volume of links were created.

Faced with this computational reality, there’s lots of spirited debate over the best ways to increase link popularity. However, many online experts suggest that variations of these four techniques have proven the most effective at upping your search engine ranking.

* Earn listings by submitting your site to search engine directories such as the Open Directory Project (dmoz. Org) and Yahoo. Com. Volunteer human editors run these directories, and they look at each site and evaluate it individually. It’s a great part of the democratic process that is the Internet. However, like democracy, getting listed on a directory like this can be a slow process. If you want a quick boost, find some niche directories that match up with your content focus. Use your keywords to locate them, and then use keywords again to qualify your site for the niche.

* Produce killer content. If you give the online denizens content that makes their eyeballs stick, they’ll gladly link to you and sing your praises.

4. Say something nice about someone else’s web site – a testimonial, in other words. When your fave asks to use your lovely comment, be sure they include a link to your web site.

Yes, the Internet is definitely hot and crowded, so learn to use its techniques effectively to increase link popularity and get the attention you need.
